Special Need Programs

The Special Needs Education Department is proud to share an overview of our recent activities aimed at supporting and enriching the educational experiences of our special needs students. Our initiatives focus on promoting inclusivity, enhancing skills, and providing comprehensive support for our students’ overall development.

  1. Understanding Private Parts and Personal Boundaries Training

   – Guided by Mr. Biniyam from the Guidance and Counseling Department, this session educated students on the importance of respecting personal boundaries and understanding private parts through interactive activities.

Adwa Victory Program Performance
  Date: March 1, 2024
  Activity: Our students participated in the school-wide “Adwa Victory” program. They performed a special skit highlighting the historical significance of the Adwa Victory. The performance received positive feedback for its inclusivity and the students’ enthusiasm.

Science Fair Participation

   – Special needs students showcased innovative projects at the annual Science Fair, demonstrating their understanding and interest in scientific concepts.

Special Needs Inclusivity Awareness Program
 Date: April 8 -12, 2024
 Objective: This program aimed at raising awareness about inclusivity within the school community. Activities included presentations, discussions, and interactive sessions that encouraged empathy and understanding among all students and staff.

Training Session on “Recognizing and Coping with Sensory Processing Disorder”
 Date: April 26, 2024
 Organized by: Esteemed Parent Community Member (Tigist Hailu)
 Audience: Staff members and parents
 Content: The session provided insights into sensory processing disorders, offering practical strategies for recognizing and coping with such challenges. It was well-received and highlighted the importance of a supportive environment.

Physical Exercise Sessions  Frequency: Daily
 Objective: These sessions are designed to enhance the physical health and motor skills of our special needs students. Activities include adapted physical exercises that cater to individual needs, promoting fitness and coordination.
